I’ve finally given in and switched the heating on – seeing my own breath while sitting in the living room in the evenings was the clincher for me – but now it’s gone a bit cooler it’s not all bad – it’s also a good excuse to refresh the Winter wardrobe.

Don’t settle for last year’s Winter coat (with last Winter’s used tissues and an unopened cough sweet stuck to the pocket’s lining).

Instead, recycle any clothes that have seen better days, drop them into a local charity shop or if you’re a dab hand with a needle and thread, turn them into something completely different, then restock your clothes rail with some of these little treasures:

Bamboo Chelsea top

Velvet embroidered coat

Then when you’ve got your outfit sorted, or if you’d rather go for something more affordable in the lead-up to Christmas, why not accessorise with one of these ethical gems:

Silver swirl brooch (preloved)

Reclaimed leather detail belt

Recycled silver heart necklace

Recycled inner tube bag (with a seatbelt for a strap!) – genius
